Tasmanian Wild West Series (TAS)
The Tasmanian Wild West Series is a multi-day ultra-marathon swim expedition conducted in some of Tasmania’s most remote and pristine wilderness environments. The series comprises a sequence of ~20–25km swims across locations such as the Gordon River, Lake Pedder and the lower Derwent / Iron Pot, undertaken over consecutive days.
Positioned at the extreme end of the Australian marathon swimming pathway, the Wild West Series is designed for highly experienced swimmers seeking a challenge that extends beyond a single event.
Participants must manage cumulative fatigue, varying water temperatures and dramatically different environments from tannin-stained river systems and exposed inland lakes through to open coastal conditions
